Short Lead Times & Small Order Size Minimums

Standard AS568/Metric Sizes in special materials or semi-custom colors (see below)

  • Typically produced in 4 weeks
  • Typically $200 per size minimum ($600+ minimum for colors)

Custom Size O-Rings

  • First runs produced in 5-7 weeks (re-orders produced in 4-5 weeks)
  • Typically $600-$700 per size minimum (plus mold cost if necessary)

Most materials are available in durometers (hardness) from 45 to 95 Shore A.  The suitable medias listed below are only basic examples and are by no means an exhaustive list. Please let us know the chemicals/medias in which your o-rings will be exposed to so that we can confirm the appropriate material that is most suitable and economical for your use.

Buna Nitrile (BN/NBR)

  • -40ºF to 250ºF
  • Suitable with:  Aliphatic Hydrocarbons, Petroleum Oils, Gasoline, Hydraulic Oils, Diesel Fuel, Water
  • The most common o-ring

Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR)

  • -40ºF to 300ºF
  • Suitable with:  Aliphatic Hydrocarbons, Petroleum Oils, Gasoline, Hydraulic Oils, Diesel Fuel, H2S (10%), Water

Ethylene Propylene (EPDM)

  • -60ºF to 300ºF
  • Suitable with:  Ammonia, Brake Fluids, Steam, UV
  • Excellent weather resistance

Flouroelastomer (FKM) [Brand Named:  Viton®]

  • 0ºF to 390ºF
  • Suitable with:  Petroleum Oils, Silicone Oils, Gasoline

Perflouroelastomer (FFKM)

  • 0ºF to 600ºF
  • Suitable with:  Most Media

Silicone (VMQ)

  • -90ºF to 430ºF
  • Suitable with:  Vegetable Oil, Water, Ozone

Neoprene (CR)

  • -40ºF to 250ºF

Color O-Rings

Captain O-Ring LLC specializes in colored o-rings.  We are capable of producing most materials in virtually any color.  Below are some swatches of colors that we mold regularly, but feel free to send us a pantone or color code and we can generally match it. Our color molded o-rings are molded through with fully colored compound, not just a colored surface coating.
