This o-ring eventually wears out from being compressed in service for a long period of time. If you notice your filter dripping from the seam/band between the two halves, it’s time to replace your o-ring to restore your filter to peak performance.

The DEX2400K o-ring measures just over 20” diameter across and 1/2” Thickness. Captain O-Ring’s replacement DEX2400K uses the same mold as the OEM o-ring that came with your filter, so you can expect an o-ring that fits exactly like the one that came with your filter when it was brand new. How to know when it’s time to replace your o-ring? It’s best practice to replace your filter’s o-ring every 2-3 years to maintain optimal performance and prevent leaks. However, water conditions and the tightness of the filter closure can affect service life. If you notice signs of wear or damage (cracks, cuts, or other deformation) to your o-ring, it’s best to replace it sooner. The o-ring will eventually wear out from being compressed in the filter band over the course of the years. If you notice your filter dripping at the seam/band between the top and bottom halves of the filter, then it’s time to replace your o-ring to restore your filter back to peak performance.
